There will be a lot of aimless wondering until you find the audiolog you're looking for that gives you clues on what you're supposed to be doing. This game does not hold your hand, it does not tell you anything more than you need to finish it.
If you told me this game was some superfans 25 year in the making modpack for the original system shock I would 100% believe you, you can tell this game was crafted with love and reverence for the original game. It remains extremely faithful to the original while modernizing mechanics and gameplay but it never forgets what it was. This might go down in history as one of the most faithful remakes, this is how you're supposed to do a remake.
